folded in half. It slides over the top of the page and holds by the pressure of its own fold, with

A clip, not a strip
Most bookmarks are a flat strip that slides out the moment the book is tipped. This one
folds over the page and grips it, so it stays where you put it in a bag, on a
shelf or in a coat pocket.
It does not deform the book
The leather is thin enough to sit between pages without splaying the spine. A bulky magnetic
bookmark opens a gap in a paperback; this one closes flat with the cover.
Holds up to 25 to 30 pages
Slipped over a single page it marks your line. It will also hold a block of
25 to 30 pages at once if you want to mark a whole chapter rather than a
line.
Embossed salamander
The face carries the embossed Semender salamander. At this size the emboss is the whole design,
which is why it is pressed deep enough to still read after years of being pushed in and out of
books.
Bookmark Dimensions and Material
The bookmark is brown full-grain leather, folded rather than stitched together, and it darkens
where your fingers grip it to move it down the page. It is small, and it will find the bottom of a
bag if you let it, which is the only real risk with it.
Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its
surface never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small
scratches of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.

What to Know Before Buying

An honest limit: this is not a magnetic bookmark. The hold comes from the
leather clip closing on itself, which is firm on a single page and lighter on a thick block. If
