Leash is 1.2" (3 cm) wide full-grain leather with a riveted hand
loop and a swivel clip that stops the lead twisting as your dog circles.
It comes in three lengths, 43.3", 45.2" and 47.2" (110, 115 and 120 cm), in brown
or black.

A swivel clip that will not twist
The clip rotates. A dog that circles you twice turns a fixed-clip lead into a
corkscrew you then have to unwind; a swivel simply turns and the strap stays flat. The clip also
fits other collars, not only ours.
Riveted hand loop
The handle loop is closed with rivets as well as stitching. That is the point
where every lead eventually fails, because it takes the entire force of a dog that decides to
leave, and it is the one place worth over-building.
Leather thick enough to hold
The strap is heavier than the leather we use on wallets, and it is 1.2" (3 cm)
wide, which is the width your hand actually wants when a dog pulls. A thin lead cuts; a wide one
spreads the load across your palm.
Three lengths
43.3" (110 cm) keeps a dog close for a short handler or a busy street,
45.2" (115 cm) is the everyday walking length, and 47.2" (120 cm)
suits a taller handler or a dog you want a little more range on.
Leash Dimensions and Material
The lead is brown or black full-grain leather, stitched along the edge, with metal hardware at
the clip and rivets at the loop. It stiffens slightly in the first weeks and then relaxes into the
way you hold it, which is why an old lead always feels better than a new one.
Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its
surface never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small
scratches of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.

Which Length Do You Need?
- 43.3" (110 cm): a shorter handler, or city streets where close control matters
- 45.2" (115 cm): the everyday walking length most people want
- 47.2" (120 cm): a taller handler, or a bit more range on open ground
- A retractable reel: this is not one
An honest limit: the lead is a fixed length. It does not extend, and if you
want a dog to range 20 feet ahead, a retractable reel is the product for that, not this. It also
does not work on its own: you need a collar or a harness to clip it to. Ours is

Collar, but the swivel clip fits other collars as well. There is no name
embossing on the lead; that is available on the collar.

Does it work with collars other than yours?
Yes. The clip is a standard swivel snap, so it attaches to the ring on any normal collar or harness. Pairing it with our AirTag collar gives you the matching leather, but it is not a requirement.
Is it retractable?
No. It is a fixed-length leather lead with no reel or locking mechanism. If you want a dog to range far ahead and be reeled back, a retractable lead is a different product.
Why does the swivel clip matter?
Because dogs circle. With a fixed clip, every turn adds a twist to the strap and you end up unwinding a corkscrew mid-walk. A swivel rotates instead, so the lead stays flat and the leather does not take a permanent curl.
Can I have a name on the leash?
Not on the leash. Embossing is available on the AirTag Compatible Leather Dog Collar, which is where a name belongs anyway: the collar is the piece that stays on the dog.
The hand loop is riveted because that is the part that matters when a dog decides to go.
