The case is two pieces that slide within each other. Closed it measures 5.5" (14 cm),
and it opens to 6.3" (16 cm) and 6.9" (17.5 cm). A robusto and a
churchill both travel in the same case, and neither rattles, because you set the length to the
cigar you are carrying.
Two separate channels
There are 2 channels, one cigar each, so the wrappers never rub against one
another. A cracked wrapper is what ruins a cigar in a pocket, and it happens when two of them
share a space.
Thick enough to take a knock
The leather is around 1.6 mm, noticeably heavier than the 1.2 to 1.3 mm we use on
wallets, and the case holds its own shape. It is the difference between a sleeve and a piece of
armor: sit down with this in a jacket pocket and the cigars survive it.

Cigar Case Dimensions and Ring Gauge
The case is tan or black full-grain leather with the grain open on the surface and stitching
along both edges. It darkens with handling. The channels take a cigar of roughly
42 to 46 ring gauge, which is the size band most Toscano-style, corona and
robusto cigars fall into.
Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its
surface never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small
scratches of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.

What Fits in the Cigar Case?

An honest limit, and it matters: this is not a humidor. It protects a cigar
from being crushed or snapped and it is fine for the few hours between your humidor and the chair
you are going to smoke it in. It does not hold humidity and it will not keep a cigar in condition
overnight; nothing without a seal and a humidification element does. The channels are also
17 to 18 mm, so anything from about 50 ring gauge upward will not go in. Measure
the cigars you actually smoke before ordering.
