Zaz has 3 slots holding 4 to 6 cards in total. The slots are
separate from one another, so your bank card goes in one and your ID in another, and you pull the
one you want without shuffling through the rest.
A wave-cut mouth
The mouths of the slots are cut in a wave. The top of the card stays exposed, so
you put a thumb on it and push it out in one movement. The same cut appears on
Neva, which is the horizontal version of this idea.
Folded cash
Zaz measures 3" x 3.9" (7.5 x 10 cm), so a bill goes into one of the slots
folded in four. It was designed for people who carry cards first and cash
second.
Your name on it, if you want
Name embossing is free. You give the name when you place the order. If it is a
gift, the card holder comes out of the box with their name already pressed into the leather.
Zaz Card Holder Dimensions and Material
Zaz comes in a single dark brown. Because the surface is never sanded down, every one carries
the grain of the hide it came from. The slot mouths are wave cut, there is contrast tan stitching
along the edge and an embossed salamander on the front. In the first days the leather is firm and
the slots feel tight.
Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its surface
never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small scratches
of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.

An honest limit: Zaz's slots are narrow. It has three of them and still holds
4 to 6 cards, because each slot is sized for a couple rather than a stack; more than that and they
strain. If you carry more cards, Wave takes 6 to 8 and its slots give
more. Zaz also does not feel like a thin plastic card case: full-grain leather at 1.2 to 1.3 mm has
body, and it sits solid in the hand rather than disappearing.

Zaz Card Holder Care
- The leather darkens and gains character over time. That is not a flaw, it is patina
- Wipe it with a dry cloth once a month and apply leather balm a few times a year
- Let the slots loosen on their own. Forcing cards in during the first weeks is what stretches
a slot permanently
- If it gets wet, let it dry on its own at room temperature. Radiators and hair dryers stiffen

Does cash fit in it?

Why does it feel stiff at first?
Because it is unlined full-grain leather at 1.2 to 1.3 mm, which has body rather than flexibility when new. The slots loosen to the shape of your cards over the first weeks. Forcing extra cards in during that period is what stretches a slot for good.
How can I tell real leather from bonded or PU?
Look at the surface and the edge. Full-grain shows the natural grain of the hide with small marks that differ piece to piece, and the cut edge is solid leather rather than a foam or fabric core. Real leather darkens with use; bonded leather cracks and flakes instead.
What is the difference between Zaz and Neva?
Orientation. Zaz is vertical with three separate slots, so cards sit upright and each has its own place. Neva is horizontal with the same wave cut and three slots, and cards go in from the top. Choose by how you reach into your pocket.
Can I have my name embossed on it?
Yes, and it is free. You give the name when you place the order and it is pressed into the leather rather than printed on top, so it ages with the surface. Note that a personalized piece cannot be returned for a change of mind.
