Fabric, Honestly

This is the section worth reading before you order anything from this collection, because several pieces carry fabric names that describe a look rather than a fibre. We would rather set that out here than have it arrive as a surprise.

The linen pieces are a linen-look weave, not pure linen. The linen shirt, linen pants, linen shorts and the linen set use a cotton-rich blend woven to look and drape like linen. It behaves better than pure linen in one respect, since it creases considerably less, and it is not the same fibre. Buy it for the look and the drape, not for pure linen.

The cupra set is cupra-inspired. The short sleeve shirt and shorts set uses a fluid weave that mimics the drape of cupro rather than being made from it.

The satin bandana is silk-look satin, not silk. The 24" x 24" bandana says so in its own name, which is how it should be. Note that name debossing is not available on this piece, unlike the leather goods.

The caps are textile, not leather. The Striped Flat Cap is an eight-panel newsboy shape rather than a flat-topped cap, which is a different silhouette on the head than the name suggests.

The knitwear is textured, not embroidered. The bouclé, wool-textured and heavy knit pieces get their character from the yarn and the stitch structure rather than from applied decoration.

What is exactly what it says: the denim jacket is 100% cotton, the wool scarf is wool, the corduroy is corduroy, and both belts are full grain leather.

Fit Names and What They Mean Here

Fit appears in most product titles, and the four terms are used consistently across the collection.

Regular fit follows the body without being close, which covers most of the shirts and knit t-shirts. This is the default and the safest choice if you are ordering without trying.

Relaxed fit has more room through the body and leg, used on the drawstring and tencel pants. Comfortable rather than loose.

Baggy fit is deliberately wide, as on the elastic waist pants. Size down if you want it merely relaxed.

Oversize is a cut rather than a size, as on the corduroy shirt, which is designed to be worn as a light layer over a t-shirt rather than as a fitted shirt.

Sizing is US throughout. Where a piece is sold as a set, both halves are sized together, so check both measurements rather than assuming your shirt size determines the shorts.

How This Works With the Rest

Care and Gifting

Knitwear should be folded rather than hung, since hanging stretches the shoulders of a heavy knit permanently. Wash cool and dry flat. Woven shirts take a normal wash; the corduroy and flannel soften with each one, which is the point of both fabrics.
