Tobacco Pouch

If you roll your own, this is the object you pick up every single day. The Tobacco Pouch is a full-grain leather wallet-fold that carries your tobacco, your papers and your filters in one piece. It measures 6.3" x 3.9" (16 x 10 cm) closed, takes a pouch of tobacco up to 1.8 oz (50 g) in its own packet, and shuts with two antique brass snaps.

Genuine Leather Tobacco Pouch Features

There is 1 tobacco compartment, 2 paper compartments and 1 filter pocket that closes with a snap. The snap matters more than it sounds: loose filters are the thing that ends up at the bottom of a bag collecting lint, and a closed pocket keeps them clean.

Your pouch goes in as it is
The main compartment takes a tobacco packet of up to 1.8 oz (50 g) without unwrapping it. You are not decanting anything, and the tobacco stays in the packaging that was keeping it in condition.

Two brass snaps
It folds in three and closes on 2 antique brass snaps. Brass rather than plated steel, because these are opened and shut several times a day and plating wears through at exactly that rate.

Free name embossing
Up to 18 characters embossed into the leather, free. That is enough for a full name rather than initials.

Tobacco Pouch Dimensions and Material

The pouch is brown full-grain leather with the grain visible on the surface and contrast stitching along the edge. Because it is handled constantly and folded the same way every time, it develops its creases faster than almost anything else we make, and those creases are what make an old one look like it belongs to somebody.

Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its surface never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small scratches of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.

• Packets over 1.8 oz (50 g): do not fit the main compartment

An honest limit: the pouch is not airtight. It carries tobacco without crushing it or letting it spill, which is what a pouch is for, but it does not preserve moisture over days. Keep tobacco you are not carrying in its own packet or a humidified jar. Packets over 1.8 oz (50 g) will not go into the main compartment either.

How to Pair the Tobacco Pouch

• Wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Never use chemical cleaners on leather
• The leather darkens and gains character over time. That is not a flaw, it is patina
• Apply leather balm a few times a year, particularly along the folds
• Empty it out now and then and shake the loose tobacco from the seams
