Maybe you liked one of our pieces, or you just opened one of our packages and wondered who is behind it. Let me tell you our story from the very beginning.
Semender started in 2019 at a small table in the corner of my room. The table in this photo was my first workshop.
I bought leather offcuts from the shoemakers in the old market and turned them into small card holders. At first it was a hobby: the simple pleasure of making something by hand for myself, my friends and my family.
Over time the designs piled up, and I started sharing them on Instagram. The more I shared, the more I saw how many people care about leather and handwork as much as I do.
That gave me the courage to share what I made with many more people.
When my room was no longer enough, I moved into my first workshop. It was less a production floor than an art studio: a place to try new ideas, with the lights on late into the night.
Many of our designs were born at those tables.
New designs introduced Semender to more people. Orders grew, new hands joined the table, and one day we realized our little studio could no longer hold everyone.
Today we work in a bigger workshop. Our craftspeople and the team who prepare every order work under one roof, collecting new stories every day.
Most people know us for our leather bags and wallets. Today Semender Leather & Co. also makes clothing in a workwear and country spirit: jackets, corduroy shirts and pants, knit sweaters, finished with our leather belts, bags and wallets.
More than 100,000 customers have ordered from us, and name stamping on our leather pieces is free.
From our workshop, we now send these pieces to customers around the world.
Opening the package matters as much as the piece inside. That is why we prepare every order with the person who will open it in mind: a kraft package, twine, a wax seal and a short note. Whether it is for you or for someone you love.
