The size of a palm. Ida is a small leather wallet made for people who carry
very little. At 3.9" x 3.1" (10 x 8 cm) it sits in your hand, and because it folds vertically it
goes into a jacket pocket standing up rather than lying across it. There are 3 card pockets and 2
cash compartments. Suitable for women and men.
Minimal Leather Wallet Features
Three card pockets, two cash compartments
Ida has 3 card pockets and 2 cash compartments. The cards you
reach for daily stay together, and your notes sit in a section of their own rather than wedged
behind the cards.
A vertical fold, upright in a pocket
Ida folds top to bottom. Unlike a horizontal wallet it slides into an inside jacket pocket
standing up, so it does not lie flat across the chest and print through the fabric. At
3.9" x 3.1" (10 x 8 cm) it is one of the smallest wallets in the range.
Brown and black
Ida is made in 2 colors. The brown develops patina with daily use and darkens
over time; the black holds its own in a formal setting.
Your name on it, if you want
Name embossing is free. You give the name when you place the order. If it is a
gift, the wallet comes out of the box with their name already pressed into the leather.
Ida Wallet Dimensions and Material
The leather is matte and even, with contrast tan stitching along the edge. On a wallet this
small the stitching is a larger share of what you see, so the edge work has nowhere to hide.
Because the surface is never sanded down, every Ida carries the grain of the hide it came from.
Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its surface
never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small scratches
of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.

What Fits in the Ida?
- Cards: 3 pockets, for the ones you use daily
- Bills: in the 2 cash compartments, folded in half
- ID and driver's license: in the card pockets
- Coins: none
- Receipts and paper: no, they swell it immediately
An honest limit: Ida is a small wallet at 3.9" x 3.1" (10 x 8 cm), so
bills do not lie flat, they fold in half. The 3 card pockets are for everyday
cards rather than a full set. If you carry more cards, look at the
Colt card holder. If you carry coins as well,
Colin has a pocket for them.
How to Pair the Ida
-
Minimal everyday: Ida is for people carrying a few cards, and it does not
announce itself in a pocket.
-
With a bag: in a small bag like Moonbag, Ida
takes up almost no room and keeps your cards within reach.
-
The Semender pairing: use Ida with a
Rootbag: both sit on the plain end of the range.
Ida Wallet Care
- The leather darkens and gains character over time. That is not a flaw, it is patina
- Wipe it with a dry cloth and apply leather balm once a month (every two to three months for occasional use)
- Do not force a second card into a single pocket. On a wallet this small the pocket stretches
and will not tighten back
- If it gets wet, let it dry on its own at room temperature. Radiators and hair dryers stiffen

Frequently Asked Questions
How do bills fit in the Ida?
Folded in half. Ida measures 3.9" x 3.1" (10 x 8 cm) and a banknote is longer than that, so you fold it once and place it in one of the two cash compartments. If you want notes to travel flat and unfolded, a long wallet like Capo or Iliada is built for that.
How many cards does the Ida hold?
Three pockets. Ida is designed for the few cards you use every day rather than for all of them. If you need to carry more, the Colt card holder is the model to look at; it is built around cards rather than around cash.
Will it stay in a jacket pocket?
Yes. Ida folds vertically rather than horizontally, so it slides into an inside jacket pocket standing up. It does not lie flat across the chest, which is what makes a horizontal wallet print through the fabric of a fitted jacket.
Is there a coin pocket?
No. Ida has three card pockets and two cash compartments, and nothing for change. Coins pushed into a card pocket on a wallet this small will misshape it quickly. If you carry coins daily, Colin has a dedicated pocket for them.
Is it suitable for women?
Yes. Ida is a unisex wallet, and at 3.9" x 3.1" (10 x 8 cm) it is one of the few that genuinely disappears into a small bag. The brown and the black are the two options; the difference between them is setting rather than gender.
Can I have my name embossed on it?
Yes, and it is free. You give the name when you place the order and it is pressed into the leather rather than printed on top, so it ages with the surface. Note that a personalized wallet cannot be returned for a change of mind.
Ida carries what you actually use, and nothing you were only carrying out of habit.
