If you roll your own, this is the object you pick up every single day. The Tobacco Pouch is a full-grain leather wallet-fold that carries your tobacco, your papers and your filters in one piece. It measures 6.3" x 3.9" (16 x 10 cm) closed, takes a pouch of tobacco up to 1.8 oz (50 g) in its own packet, and shuts with two antique brass snaps.
Genuine Leather Tobacco Pouch Features
Tobacco, papers and filters, separated
There is 1 tobacco compartment, 2 paper compartments and
1 filter pocket that closes with a snap. The snap matters more than it sounds:
loose filters are the thing that ends up at the bottom of a bag collecting lint, and a closed
pocket keeps them clean.
Your pouch goes in as it is
The main compartment takes a tobacco packet of up to 1.8 oz (50 g) without
unwrapping it. You are not decanting anything, and the tobacco stays in the packaging that was
keeping it in condition.
Two brass snaps
It folds in three and closes on 2 antique brass snaps. Brass rather than plated
steel, because these are opened and shut several times a day and plating wears through at exactly
that rate.
Free name embossing
Up to 18 characters embossed into the leather, free. That is
enough for a full name rather than initials.
Tobacco Pouch Dimensions and Material
The pouch is brown full-grain leather with the grain visible on the surface and contrast stitching along the edge. Because it is handled constantly and folded the same way every time, it develops its creases faster than almost anything else we make, and those creases are what make an old one look like it belongs to somebody.
Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its surface never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small scratches of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.

What Fits in the Tobacco Pouch?
- Tobacco: a packet up to 1.8 oz (50 g), in its own wrapping
- Papers: 2 compartments
- Filters: 1 snap-closed pocket
- Packets over 1.8 oz (50 g): do not fit the main compartment
An honest limit: the pouch is not airtight. It carries tobacco without crushing it or letting it spill, which is what a pouch is for, but it does not preserve moisture over days. Keep tobacco you are not carrying in its own packet or a humidified jar. Packets over 1.8 oz (50 g) will not go into the main compartment either.
How to Pair the Tobacco Pouch
- With a light: the Leather Wrapped Lighter is the obvious other half, in the same leather.
- If you also smoke ready-mades: the Leather Cigarette Case holds 10 in individual loops.
- The Semender pairing: a pouch handled every day dries out faster than anything, so Semender Leather Balm a few times a year is not optional here.
Tobacco Pouch Care
- Wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Never use chemical cleaners on leather
- The leather darkens and gains character over time. That is not a flaw, it is patina
- Apply leather balm a few times a year, particularly along the folds
- Empty it out now and then and shake the loose tobacco from the seams
Frequently Asked Questions
How much tobacco does it hold?
A packet of up to 1.8 oz (50 g), and it goes in with its own wrapping rather than being emptied into the pouch. Anything larger will not fit the main compartment.
Does it keep tobacco fresh?
It keeps it from being crushed or spilled, which is the job of a pouch, but it is not airtight and it will not hold moisture for days. Leave tobacco you are not carrying in its packet or in a humidified jar, and use this for what you take out with you.
How many compartments are there?
Four in total: one for tobacco, two for papers and one snap-closed pocket for filters. The snap on the filter pocket is what keeps unused filters clean instead of loose in the fold.
Can I use it as a wallet?
No, and we would rather say so plainly: there are no card slots and no cash compartment in it. It is built for tobacco, papers and filters. If you want cards and cash, carry a wallet as well.
Can I have a name on it?
Yes, free, up to 18 characters embossed into the leather, which is enough for a full name rather than just initials. Give the text with your order. Note that a personalized piece cannot be returned for a change of mind.
The things you touch every day are the ones worth making out of something that lasts.
How can I track my order?
When your order ships, we email you a shipping confirmation with your tracking number and a tracking link. You also get an email at every stage until it reaches you. You can check the status any time on our Track My Order page, or under your account if you signed in when you ordered.
These emails go automatically to the email address entered with the order, and we can't stop them for a single order. If you are sending a gift and want to keep the surprise, enter your own email address and phone number at checkout.
When will my order ship, and when will it arrive?
Each piece is prepared after you order: your order is prepared and shipped within 6 business days, then it is usually delivered within 3-5 business days. The dates for your order are shown on the product page before you buy. Weekends and public holidays are not counted.
Orders ship with UPS, FedEx or DHL. We email your tracking number on the day your order ships. A parcel doesn't always leave the carrier's facility right away, so the tracking may take a little while to show movement; please check again later.
How much is shipping?
The shipping cost for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and most orders ship free. There are no extra shipping charges after you pay.
Do you accept returns and cancellations?
Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to request a return of a piece without personalization; it must come back unused, in its original condition and packaging. Pieces stamped with a name are made for one person, so as stated in our Refund Policy they can't be canceled, returned or exchanged. To start a return or a cancellation, write to us at contact@semender.info or through our contact page.
How do I personalize my order?
On the product page, type the name you want in the "Add the name you want stamped (optional)" box below the color options. Name stamping is free. The limit is 5 to 18 characters depending on the piece, spaces included, and the counter in the box shows each piece's limit.
All letters A to Z, the numbers 0-9, ❤ and the marks ( ) . - & @ / can be stamped; other marks and emoji can't. Logos are stamped only on corporate bulk orders. Names are stamped in capital letters, 6 mm (about 1/4 in) tall. Personalized pieces can't be canceled, returned or exchanged.
For the full details, see our Personalization Guide.
Is your leather real?
Yes. Our leather pieces are made from full-grain calfskin, semi-vegetable tanned. On our waxed canvas models, leather is used together with waxed canvas. The leather darkens and gains character as you use it.
What the labels on leather actually mean is explained in Full-Grain, Top-Grain and Genuine Leather.
My order is a gift. What should I do?
Write your message in the order note on the cart page and we add it to your order. To make the gift extra special, add a wooden gift box from the product page, choose one of our ready-made gift sets, or put several pieces together on Build Your Own Gift Set.
How do I care for leather, and how often?
Leather is a natural material: every piece can carry different tones and marks, it darkens as you use it, and it can scratch in everyday use. These scratches, and marks left by water, can be treated with our Leather Balm.
To use the balm, first wipe the piece with a damp cloth and let it dry completely. Take a small amount on your finger or a soft cloth, work it into the leather in small circles, and wipe off the excess. If it's your first time, try it on a small hidden area; the balm can darken the leather slightly at first, which is normal.
Once a month is enough for a piece you carry every day, and every two to three months for pieces you use less. For stains, see What to Try on a Leather Stain.
How can I contact you?
Email us at contact@semender.info or use the form on our contact page. We reply within 3 business days, usually sooner. If it's about an order, adding your order number helps us answer faster.
