The Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case is a single-layer leather sleeve, 6.7" x 3.1" (17 x 8 cm), made to carry your glasses in a bag without scratching them. A narrow strap extends from the back, folds over the front and closes with a single snap; the inside is the suede reverse of the leather. Any frame that fits our classic Glasses Case fits this one too.
Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case Features
Strap flap, one snap
The back panel is extended, folded forward and closed with a single snap. The flap does not cover
the whole top of the glasses; it crosses the middle like a band. In practice that means the moment
you undo the snap, half the frame is already in your hand and you do not have to turn the case over
and shake it.
The back of the snap is covered in leather
The inner face of the stud is covered with leather and stitched down. When you close the flap, the
metal never touches your frames; there is always leather between the lens and the snap. If you open
and close it several times a day, that is where you feel the difference.
Suede lined, gentle on lenses
The inner surface is the suede reverse of the leather. No separate lining is stitched in, so the case
stays a single layer. That surface leaves no marks when it rubs against a lens or a frame, and you do
not need to carry a cloth with you.
Curved cut, lies flat in a bag
The two ends of the case taper and the middle widens. The cut follows the shape of a folded pair of
glasses: there is no empty space inside and the case lies flat in your bag like a book. It is not a
hard case, so it does not disturb the order of what you are carrying.
Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case Dimensions and Material
The case is made from brown leather with tan contrast stitching along the edge. The leather is slightly thicker than what we use in our wallets, so the case holds its own shape instead of creasing and folding. The curved flap line is cut by hand, so the curve shifts a touch from piece to piece.
Full-grain leather: the top and most densely fibered layer of the hide, left unsanded and unthinned. The grain stays exactly as it is, and instead of wearing out over the years it darkens.

Which Glasses Fit?
- Thin metal frame prescription glasses ✅
- Standard size acetate frames ✅
- Standard sunglasses ✅
- Very large, wide sunglasses ❌
- Wraparound sport frames ❌
An honest limit: fold your glasses and measure them end to end. Frames up to about 5.9" (15 cm) wide go in comfortably; beyond that, or with thick temples, the strap strains and the snap will not reach the stud. One more thing: this is a soft case, not a hard one. It protects your glasses against scratches and rubbing, but do not expect it to protect them from being crushed under something heavy in your bag.
How Is It Different From the Classic Glasses Case?
Both are made from the same leather with the same suede interior and both take the same frames. The difference is the flap and the size: the classic Glasses Case is 7.1" x 3.1" (18 x 8 cm) and closes with a wide, wave-cut flap that covers the glasses completely. The Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case is 6.7" x 3.1" (17 x 8 cm), closes with a narrow strap, and hands you the frame faster when you open it. If you carry prescription glasses and sunglasses separately, you can take one of each and never mix them up.
How to Pair the Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case
- When you get home: take your glasses out of the case and drop them in a Leather Bowl so you are not hunting for them in the morning.
- Inside your bag: in a hand-carried bag like Clutchbag, the flat build of the case slides straight into the zip pocket.
- The Semender pairing: if you want a card holder that stays slim in a jacket pocket, you can take it with Zaz; both are cut from the same leather and age together.
Caring for the Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case
- The leather darkens and gains character over time. That is patina, not a flaw.
- The leather surface can scratch with use. Press and rub the scratched area with your hand and it will largely fade.
- Do not apply balm to the suede inside; brush the dust off with a dry cloth or a soft brush.
- If it gets wet, blot it dry with a cloth. Do not dry it with direct heat, which stiffens leather.
- Apply leather balm to the outer surface a few times a year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my glasses fit in this case?
Fold your glasses and measure them end to end. Frames up to about 5.9" (15 cm) wide go in comfortably. Thin metal prescription frames and standard sunglasses fit without trouble; very wide frames or thick temples make the strap strain. Any pair that fits the classic Glasses Case fits this one.
How is it different from the classic Glasses Case?
The leather, the suede interior and the frames it takes are the same. The classic model is 7.1" x 3.1" (18 x 8 cm) and closes with a wide, wave-cut flap. The Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case is 6.7" x 3.1" (17 x 8 cm), closes with a narrow strap from the back, and puts the frame in your hand faster when you open it.
Does it protect as well as a hard case?
It does not. This is a soft leather case, not a hard shell. It protects your glasses against scratches and rubbing, but do not expect it to protect them from being crushed under something heavy in your bag. In exchange, it does not take up the space a hard case does.
Is it lined, and will it scratch my lenses?
The case is a single layer of leather with no separate lining stitched in. The inner surface is the suede reverse of the leather and leaves no marks against a lens. The inside of the snap is also covered with leather and stitched down, so the metal never touches your frames.
Can I have a name embossed on it?
Yes, free of charge. One note: we emboss in uppercase only, there is no lowercase option. Just tell us the text you want when you order. The embossing is pressed into the leather, it is not ink.
Can I use it for both prescription glasses and sunglasses?
You can, but not both at the same time. The case is stitched to hold a single pair; stack two and the strap will not reach the snap, and the lenses will scratch each other. If you carry both, a separate case for each is the better answer.
This case was not made to store your glasses; it was made for taking them off and putting them back on five times a day.
How can I track my order?
When your order ships, we email you a shipping confirmation with your tracking number and a tracking link. You also get an email at every stage until it reaches you. You can check the status any time on our Track My Order page, or under your account if you signed in when you ordered.
These emails go automatically to the email address entered with the order, and we can't stop them for a single order. If you are sending a gift and want to keep the surprise, enter your own email address and phone number at checkout.
When will my order ship, and when will it arrive?
Each piece is prepared after you order: your order is prepared and shipped within 6 business days, then it is usually delivered within 3-5 business days. The dates for your order are shown on the product page before you buy. Weekends and public holidays are not counted.
Orders ship with UPS, FedEx or DHL. We email your tracking number on the day your order ships. A parcel doesn't always leave the carrier's facility right away, so the tracking may take a little while to show movement; please check again later.
How much is shipping?
The shipping cost for your order is shown at checkout before you pay, and most orders ship free. There are no extra shipping charges after you pay.
Do you accept returns and cancellations?
Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to request a return of a piece without personalization; it must come back unused, in its original condition and packaging. Pieces stamped with a name are made for one person, so as stated in our Refund Policy they can't be canceled, returned or exchanged. To start a return or a cancellation, write to us at contact@semender.info or through our contact page.
How do I personalize my order?
On the product page, type the name you want in the "Add the name you want stamped (optional)" box below the color options. Name stamping is free. The limit is 5 to 18 characters depending on the piece, spaces included, and the counter in the box shows each piece's limit.
All letters A to Z, the numbers 0-9, ❤ and the marks ( ) . - & @ / can be stamped; other marks and emoji can't. Logos are stamped only on corporate bulk orders. Names are stamped in capital letters, 6 mm (about 1/4 in) tall. Personalized pieces can't be canceled, returned or exchanged.
For the full details, see our Personalization Guide.
Is your leather real?
Yes. Our leather pieces are made from full-grain calfskin, semi-vegetable tanned. On our waxed canvas models, leather is used together with waxed canvas. The leather darkens and gains character as you use it.
What the labels on leather actually mean is explained in Full-Grain, Top-Grain and Genuine Leather.
My order is a gift. What should I do?
Write your message in the order note on the cart page and we add it to your order. To make the gift extra special, add a wooden gift box from the product page, choose one of our ready-made gift sets, or put several pieces together on Build Your Own Gift Set.
How do I care for leather, and how often?
Leather is a natural material: every piece can carry different tones and marks, it darkens as you use it, and it can scratch in everyday use. These scratches, and marks left by water, can be treated with our Leather Balm.
To use the balm, first wipe the piece with a damp cloth and let it dry completely. Take a small amount on your finger or a soft cloth, work it into the leather in small circles, and wipe off the excess. If it's your first time, try it on a small hidden area; the balm can darken the leather slightly at first, which is normal.
Once a month is enough for a piece you carry every day, and every two to three months for pieces you use less. For stains, see What to Try on a Leather Stain.
