Strap flap, one snap
The back panel is extended, folded forward and closed with a single snap. The flap does not cover
the whole top of the glasses; it crosses the middle like a band. In practice that means the moment
you undo the snap, half the frame is already in your hand and you do not have to turn the case over
and shake it.
The back of the snap is covered in leather
The inner face of the stud is covered with leather and stitched down. When you close the flap, the
metal never touches your frames; there is always leather between the lens and the snap. If you open
and close it several times a day, that is where you feel the difference.
Suede lined, gentle on lenses
The inner surface is the suede reverse of the leather. No separate lining is stitched in, so the case
stays a single layer. That surface leaves no marks when it rubs against a lens or a frame, and you do
not need to carry a cloth with you.
Curved cut, lies flat in a bag
The two ends of the case taper and the middle widens. The cut follows the shape of a folded pair of
glasses: there is no empty space inside and the case lies flat in your bag like a book. It is not a
hard case, so it does not disturb the order of what you are carrying.
Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case Dimensions and Material
The case is made from brown leather with tan contrast stitching along the edge. The leather is
slightly thicker than what we use in our wallets, so the case holds its own shape instead of creasing
and folding. The curved flap line is cut by hand, so the curve shifts a touch from piece to piece.
Full-grain leather: the top and most densely fibered layer of the hide, left
unsanded and unthinned. The grain stays exactly as it is, and instead of wearing out over the years it
darkens.

An honest limit: fold your glasses and measure them end to end. Frames up to about 5.9" (15 cm)
wide go in comfortably; beyond that, or with thick temples, the strap strains and the snap will not
reach the stud. One more thing: this is a soft case, not a hard one. It protects your glasses against
scratches and rubbing, but do not expect it to protect them from being crushed under something heavy
in your bag.

Caring for the Snap-Closure Leather Glasses Case
- The leather darkens and gains character over time. That is patina, not a flaw.
- The leather surface can scratch with use. Press and rub the scratched area with your hand and it
will largely fade.
- Do not apply balm to the suede inside; brush the dust off with a dry cloth or a soft brush.
- If it gets wet, blot it dry with a cloth. Do not dry it with direct heat, which stiffens leather.
- Apply leather balm to the outer surface a few times a year.

Can I have a name embossed on it?
Yes, free of charge. One note: we emboss
in uppercase only, there is no lowercase option. Just tell us the text you want when you order. The
embossing is pressed into the leather, it is not ink.
Can I use it for both prescription glasses and sunglasses?
You can, but not
both at the same time. The case is stitched to hold a single pair; stack two and the strap will not reach
the snap, and the lenses will scratch each other. If you carry both, a separate case for each is the better
answer.
