Thick enough to hold its shape
The leather is around 2 mm, heavier than a wallet and heavier than the coaster.

The tray is dark brown full-grain leather with the crest pressed into the base and the natural
grain visible across the surface. It arrives flat and firm, and the corners soften over the first
weeks so the shape settles into something less geometric and more used.
Full-grain leather: the topmost, densest-fibered layer of the hide, its
surface never sanded or thinned. Over the years it darkens rather than wears out, and the small
scratches of daily use largely disappear when you rub them with a finger.
